On Thursday 7 June, EFIEES, eu.esco, EU-ASE, Factor 4 and EVO organised, in the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2018, a seminar on “Energy Performance Contracts to foster Energy Efficiency in the public sector – how to turn difficulties into success?”.
The event, featuring high-level speakers from the EU and financial institutions, as well as professionals from the energy efficiency sector, took place in a packed “Lord Jenkins Room” at Charlemagne building in Brussels.
The purpose of the session was to address the current challenges and opportunities for energy efficiency improvements in the public sector, focusing on EPCs as one of the most cost-effective tools available in this respect. Moreover, the event represented one of the first public occasions to present the new Eurostat rules for the statistical treatment of EPCs, following the recent publication of the EPC Practitioners’ Guide by the European Investment Bank and Eurostat.
The QualitEE Project, of which EFIEES is partner and whose main aim is to develop quality criteria for energy efficiency services and EPCs to enhance trust in these tools and their uptake on the market, was also showcased.
