Our president, Pascal Guillaume, participated in the Polish District Heating & Cooling conference, which gathered over 700 participants.
Among the other speakers were Rafał Gawin (President of Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE), the Polish Energy Regulatory Office), Grzegorz Tobolczyk (Director of DH and Energy Efficiency Department, Ministry of Environment and Climate), Jacek Szymczak (President of the Polish DH Association), and Janne Kerttula (President of Euroheat & Power). Together, they discussed the vital role of District Heating & Cooling (DHC) in decarbonising heating and cooling across Poland and the EU.
Pascal emphasized the need for close coordination between national H&C plans and building renovation strategies, as required by the Energy Efficiency Directive and Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
Access to financing will be essential for modernising DHC systems and the connected buildings, with Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) playing a pivotal role in improving building energy performance and emissions, that should be allowed to aggregate public and private funding for Energy & CO2 Performance Contracting projects.
