On 23 January 2025, EFIEES hosted its conference on industrial energy efficiency!

The event brought together experts from ESCOs (Energy Services Companies) and from diverse industries (steel, phamarceutical, automotive, food industry), showcasing how energy management solutions designed and operated by ESCOs drive energy efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions, allow for the energy transition, and together for an improved EU competitiveness. Energy efficiency is the way forward for decarbonising without desindustrialising!

The energy efficiency projects that were presented are integral to an overall industrial approach, where gains in energy consumption and reduction of CO2 emissions accompany a vision for an extremely modern industry, making it fit for national and international competition. The projects showed how to build a successful, long-term partnership between industries and ESCOs, where ESCOs are holding the know-how with regards to energy performance. As explained by the panelists, regulatory predictability is crucial to start such long lasting projects, and also incentives and public support to start investments.
